If you ask a room of kindergartners how many students are artists, most of the hands will raise. The same is true if you ask who can dance, or who can sing? If you repeat this questioning process with a 6th grade class possibly only one or 2 hands will raise with each question. What is the difference? It is possible that younger students have more of a growth mindset, believing that they can accomplish anything? The difference between a growth mind set and a fixed mind set in students and teachers can make a significant difference in the academic growth and progress of students.
